THERE IS NO CHARGE TO BE LISTED on this blog, however... I do ask for a reciprocal link. (To my own website, www.kimnormanbooks.com, not this author-by-state site. Why invite competition on your own site, right?)
MY DEFINITION OF "TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED"... If you're with a publisher you know I'll recognize, (established pros will know) then... not to worry. Write to me and I'll add you. If you have any doubts, rather than haggle over what qualifies as traditional, I'm going to simplify things. CLICK THIS LINK and scroll down to a list of publishers approved by SCBWI to be included in their Publishers Market Survey. If you see your publisher on this list, write to me. If not, then you're with a publisher that's too obscure for you to be added to this site. I'm sorry to make this distinction, but with over 700 links already, I don't want the site to become so unwieldy that it loses its original intent: to save educators time when "shopping" for an author. And... paper books only, please, not e-books.

Only one more week to win free books!!

With the book giveaway concluding at the end of this month (Nov 08) I think it's a good idea to give the contest one more plug. Honest, folks, it looks as though not that many folks are entered in the contest yet, (not the thousands I'd hoped), but what's bad for me (not being famous -- boo hoo!) is good for you -- because it increases your odds of winning!

But there's not much time left, so the Thanksgiving holiday is the perfect time for teachers to take a few minutes to enter. See details in the repost below:

Hi all,
I'm excited to share information about a book giveaway I'm involved with through TheApple, an educator's website. The contest runs thru the entire month of November, 2008. The winner must be a teacher or homeschooler, so FORWARD THIS LINK TO ALL THE TEACHERS YOU KNOW!

Here's official blurb from TheApple:
TheApple is proud to host a book contest with author Kim Norman. Come on over to TheApple to learn about "The Perfect Author Visit," then take a little quiz for a chance to win 35 autographed copies of her book, JACK OF ALL TAILS. Click HERE for info on how to participate.

(Kim Norman popping into the official blurb to let you know I have never received even the tiniest bit of spam as a result of registering on the site many months ago.)

TheApple is a community by and for educators. Registration is free! TheApple offers a huge library of resources written by educators on how to manage a class, work with parents, teach special needs, and utilize technology to name a few. Browse lesson plans, news, videos, career quizzes or join a group.

The M-1965 Field Jacket , also known as the m65 jacket is a popular field jacket designed for the U.S. military. The m65 field jacket has been around for many years. It was introduced into US military service in 1965 to replace the M-1951 field jacket, an evolution of a Second World War design, the M-1943 field jacket. The m65 field jacket was widely used by United States troops during the Vietnam War in which the jacket became useful for troops serving in the Central Highlands of South Vietnam, as well as keeping a soldier warm from the cool weather conditions that came after monsoonal rains.
